2014年4月12日,深紫乐队(Deep Purple)在东京日本武道馆(Nippon Budokan)上演了一场足以载入乐队史册的演出,这场名为“…To The Rising Sun In Tokyo”的现场,于2015年8月28日正式发行。
《…To The Rising Sun In Tokyo》是一份献给深紫乐队忠实信徒的厚礼。

The closing moments of the show are perfect. After "Black Night," the band takes their bows, and you can see the appreciation in their faces. They know they've done something special. And the crowd knows it too. The applause goes on and on. And then there's silence. And then you realize you've just witnessed a piece of rock history. This is Deep Purple at their best.
The sound quality on this release is superb. The drums are punchy, the bass is deep, the guitar is clear, the keyboards are present. You can hear every detail without losing the energy of the live performance. The mix by Eike Freese and Alexander Dietz captures the spirit of the Budokan—intimate yet powerful. It's a pleasure to listen to on a good system.
This is Deep Purple's statement to the world: we're still here, we're still relevant, and we're still great. They could have just played the hits and called it a night. But they didn't. They played deep cuts, they played new songs, they stretched out, they improvised. They showed that they're not a nostalgia act; they're a living, breathing rock band. And they did it all with class and power.
The band's chemistry on this night is palpable. They've been playing together for years—this Mk VIII lineup is the longest-lasting in Deep Purple's history—and it shows. They listen to each other, they respond to each other, they push each other. The extended jams on "Lazy" and "Space Truckin'" are not just noodling; they're conversations. And the audience is the fourth member of the band.
Ian Gillan在结尾的时候说“See you next time”,让人既感动又感伤。
Ian Paice is the only original member left from the Mk I lineup, and he's still a monster. "The Mule" is his showcase, and he doesn't disappoint. The drum solo is not just a display of speed; it's musical. He plays with dynamics, with groove, with swing. And when the band comes back in, the energy is through the roof. He's the engine that drives this train.
This concert was filmed beautifully. The camera work captures the energy of the band and the intimacy of the venue. You get close-ups of Steve Morse's fingers, Don Airey's hands, Ian Paice's drumsticks. But you also get wide shots that show the band as a whole and the crowd's reaction. And the sound is reference quality. A great document of a great band.
